BH3 Block 4 - Birdhouse
BH3 Block 4 - Birdhouse
Jan Patek has been designing for over much of her life - she's an artist whose media is needle, thread and fiber. She began publishing in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and over the years, she's remained an original designer with a distintive style. Fabric? Jan's first collection was Brannock & Patek's From the Prairie in 1995.
After feeding dogs and chickens, Jan's days begin with a bit of appliqué, or a lot of it. Birdhouse can be made in four sizes - 4", 6", 8" and 12" finished.
The instructions for Birdhouse are on Jan's blog - Jan Patek Quilts.
If you're not sure about needleturn appliqué, Jan has several terrific videos that will help with tips and techniques. This block would also be lovely with wool appliqué, or with fusible, machine-stitched appliqué.
